Imagine participating in a vacation workshop with your very own experts on perimenopause. Even more exciting, imagine that the workshop is held in France , in an old stone house in the Languedoc . Picture bright sunny gardens, simple culinary pleasures of wine, cheese and fresh produce, meals on the terrace and most of all, a time for laughing, relaxing and reconnecting with yourself and other women. What a way to dispel the perimenopause blues!
Lissa, Andrea and Jerilynn invite you to join them for a one week workshop at Baronnie de Bourgade in the south of France . With Jerilynn’s expertise in perimenopause, Lissa’s background in organizing events and Andrea’s experience of owning a house in the area, the week promises to be one incredible adventure.
Two workshop dates are planned:
April 15-22 and April 22-29, 2006 .
Workshop format
Both workshops will, in general, have two hours of time each day for participants to learn about the mysteries of perimenopause. The format for the workshops will be based on the authors’ manual “Transitions through the Perimenopausal Years”. Depending on the topic area, the workshops will be lead by Jerilynn, Andrea or Lissa. The goal of the workshop is for you to become your own expert. The workshop registration will be limited to ensure a small, intimate experience (maximum 15)
The rest of the day will be free to soak up the French ambiance by exploring either by yourself or in organized activities. Life in France can offer “le temps retrouve” (time found) and we hope to offer you a balance between learning, quiet time and activities. This area of France is immensely rich in possibilities:
- Walking, hiking and biking along the Canal de Midi, les Montagnes Noirs or local vineyards
- Visiting numerous local villages
- Visiting Roman ruins, the Mediterranean or medieval sites
- Painting, drawing, writing and taking photos
- Reading in a quiet corner of the garden
- And of course, visiting local markets for fresh supplies for meals
Depending on the interests of the group, activities can be informal, individual activities or planned to meet the needs of the group.
Accommodation
The workshops will be held at Baronnie de Bourgade. For information and a preview, visit their website at http://www.baronnie-de-bourgade.com/. Sleeping accommodations are private rooms with double beds for either single or double occupancy.

Daily French breakfast ( Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Croissants, Pains au Chocolat, Bread, Yoghurts, Ham, Cheese, Eggs, Orange Juice, Jams), two dinners and a wine tasting are included during your week stay. Other meals are at the discretion of the participants; group meals could be a fun way of making new friends and learning new cooking skills.
The accommodation has food preparation facilities so lunches on the terrace can be readily prepared. Can’t you just taste the local cheeses and pâtés, regional specialties, French bread and wine. Baronnie de Bourgade is close to several towns and villages that have wonderful restaurants so dinner out will be an adventure in itself.
